Toyota's Collaborative Safety Research Center (CSRC) announced fifteen new projects to help advance automotive safety industrywide for societal good. These additions to CSRC s current five-year research phase focus on better understanding driver behavior, crash avoidance and crash injury mitigation.
rFpro has developed a highly-accurate digital model of an expansive network of roads in Los Angeles, California, to support the development of autonomous vehicles (AV) and automated driving technologies. The virtual environment enables engineers to conduct extensive representative testing of AVs in simulation before progressing to the public road.
The technology of automated driving is developing steadily and is demonstrating impressive skills. What hurdles do industry and policymakers still have to clear on the way to large-scale implementation? Henk Goossens of TNO explains the current state of play. This solution validates conformity and effectiveness during end-of-line (EOL) testing or periodical technical inspection (PTI).
PCB Piezotronics is introducing the new Model 357A67 elevated temperature charge triaxial accelerometer. The 357A67 is PCB's smallest charge output triaxial accelerometer and can withstand temperatures as high as 500°F (260°C).

STMicroelectronics has introduced the ASM330LHBG1 automotive 3-axis accelerometer and 3-axis gyroscope module with a safety-software library that enables a cost-effective solution for functional-safety applications. The ASM330LHBG1 is AEC-Q100 Grade-1 qualified for the ambient operating temperature range -40° C to 125° C, allowing use such as next to the engine compartment and in areas exposed to sunlight.
The Governors Highway Safety Association (GHSA) has partnered with Michelin Mobility Intelligence (MMI) to provide $300,000 in competitive grants to three states for advanced traffic safety data collection and analysis that can help make roads safer.

Under the leadership of the Swedish Transport Administration, 33 authorities and stakeholders, many SAFER partners included, have developed the Action Plan for Road Safety 2022-2025. The action plan outlines the 250 measures that participating actors intend to implement during the period to contribute to safer road traffic. Annually, the Swedish Transport Administration monitors the progress of the action plan's measures, with each authority and stakeholder responsible for implementing their own measures.
