Mercedes-Benz has further improved the Active Parking Assist with PARKTRONIC. With 4 km/h, the system now parks twice as fast as before. Drivers who are used to partial automation that switches off when they try to share control over the steering are less willing to steer or put their hands on the wheel in sticky situations, a new study from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety shows. Most finite element simulation models represent the ideal state of a structure. However, in real life, deviations during manufacture or operation can cause imperfections which have an impact on a structure's behavior. It is important to include and evaluate the effects of these imperfections. TECOSIM developed a process that allows automatic updating of finite element simulation models based on image data as part of the Add2Reliablade research project funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action.
