ANCAP releases four Commercial Vans Results

ANCAP's Commercial Van Safety Comparison assesses the performance of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) fitted to commercial vans to help buyers of these business and fleet vehicles understand how well-equipped each van is to avoid a crash. Debuting with a PLATINUM grading, the LDV Deliver 7 enters the Commercial Van Safety Comparison with an overall performance score of 86 %.

China Electric Vehicle Fire Safety Index - Workshop under the Guidance of Dr. Chen Bin from CMVR

article imageThe C-EVFI is a challenging assessment for electric vehicles that focuses on the protection of vehicle occupants in the event of battery thermal runaway. It addresses this by evaluating safety warnings, emergency rescue, fire protection and data monitoring. At SafetyWeek, Dr. Chen Bin of CMVR - China Merchants Testing Vehicle Technology Research Institute, the organization that launched the C-EVFI, will provide an in-depth look at the current assessment program and upcoming enhancements to the index. The workshop will be held on the first afternoon of SafetyWeek (May 13) and is open to all SafetyWeek attendees with a ticket for that day.

Hyundai Mobis develops Battery System with built-in Fire Extinguishing Feature

Hyundai Mobis announced that it had succeeded in developing a new technology that can extinguish a fire immediately by spraying a fire extinguishing agent when a battery cell catches fire. Brazilian Research Institute visits THI

Discussions centred on the establishment of a new institute for automotive research with a focus on vehicle dynamics, vehicle safety and automated driving. The CARISSMA of the THI, the nationwide control centre for vehicle safety, is regarded as a pioneering model. Other areas of cooperation were also discussed.
